On October 27 the participants of Mary’s Team and thousands of others walked to support the AFSP. Our hard work paid off as donors generously donated enough to make our team a “Top Team” – in fact the 4th highest fundraising team for the event! We were glad to have to the support of so many, including but not limited to Jeanine C. Driscoll, Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Hempstead – who is a neighbor and friend. We will be back bigger and better next year, but PLEASE, remember those who are suffering and reach out to organizations like the AFSP for help and support. Be well.

Each year I build a graveyard for Halloween which was mine and Mary’s favorite holiday. It started small and grew each year to the point I will be running out of space at some point :). I continue in memory of Mary and because the kids love it. It is full of colors, lights, sounds, and animatronics. This year, for the first time we will be asked for donations for the Foundation. Come by and enjoy. go to www.youtube.com/@MEMF-g5s to see more!!!

In order to raise funds for the good works of MEMF, we have established a GoFundMe page which can be found at

My Wife Nancy put together a great Paint Night Event for the Foundation. The turnout was terrific and I got to speak a bit before the painting commenced about where we are now. We will be working with AFSP in their “Talk Saves Lives” program in various venues over the coming months. We are also planning a big turnout for the AFSP Long Island Walk on October 27, 2019. More to follow …
This past Sunday the Quinn and Millus families as well as some friends participated in doing some final touch up on “Mary’s Garden” “Mary’s Garden’ is a joint project of the Mary Quinn’s Mark Foundation and the Mary Elise Millus Foundation and is located next to Our Lady Of victory Church at 2 Bellmore St, Floral Park NY 11001. The Garden is an outdoor space that will offer an opportunity for children and adults to connect with elements of nature through activities and observation. It acts as an outdoor classroom increasing the quantity and quality of outdoor experiences for children in educational programs. We were honored that the Mary Quinn’s Mark Foundation asked us to participate. The formal dedication is Sunday, November 11 at 10:00 a.m.

Our participation in the AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk was a stunning success. We raised over $17,000 making our team the highest fundraising team for the walk. We could not have done it without everyone who helped. Next year we have big plans and intend to add to that total significantly.
Thank you all!!!!!
The Long Island Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (“AFSP”) sponsored my wife’s and my attendance in Austin, TX in July to participate in the programs at the National Summitt where we could all share our stories and discuss our healing and prevention. AFSP is a wonderful organization that stands at the forefront of helping survivors and taking all of the steps we can to educate the public and help those who need help most.
